Startrek II - Resurrection

StarTrek II - Resurrection - Part 1, general information
Part 2, used models

In this project, 5 Animations were created.
The 3D-images/animations were created with different programs. Most of the work was done in Moray V3.2 and Povray 3.1g, other parts were created using Lightwave 6.0. All animations were composed in Ulead MediaStudio 2.5. Links to these programs can be foundon our link page.

The MS-MPG4V3-Codec can be downloaded here.

The first animation shows the departure of the USS Enterprise E from a spacedock orbiting Mars.

The complete background (Mars, the spacedock, stars) was created using Moray/Povray and was used as background in Lightwave for the animation of the enterprise.

Time needed for creation: ca. 4 hours

The music is from Startrek VIII.

The background was created in Moray/Povray.

Sebastian was filmed in front of a blue background (these were two blue towels).
The noise, sounds, the admiral and the backround were composed in MediaStudio.

Time to completion of the Sequence (filming and composing): ca. 8 hours
Time to completion of the background: ca. 2 weeks

The background of the animation above was originally planned as layout of the Enterprise's bridge. A complete bridge was build not just that, what can be seen in the animation. Since the bridge was not used because the producers decided it would be to complicated to work with blue box, we decided to use it in the com-sequence as the admiral's bridge.

After we had completed our work, we were asked to work for that film again. Since the results of the outro made by the producers didn't come out very well, we were asked to create it. So we did.
We decided for the national anthem of the GDR "Auferstanden aus Ruinen" as the music for the outro. After that was decided we just had to make the duration of the text fit to the music.

Time needed for creation of the sequence: ca. 4 hours
